June Beach Trip

We were fortunate enough to be able to spend a week in Myrtle Beach for an entire week with my family. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable time and even had good weather all week long. Oh yea and there was an alligator in the ocean. (don't worry I'll explain later)

Our house for the week "Captain's Choice"

Normally my family (Parents, siblings, grandparents, cousins) goes to Myrtle and we just rent hotel rooms for the week. This year we decided to get a big house and all stay together! It was fun being able to hang out with everyone and catch up on life since we live so far away and aren't able to do that often.

Due to the wedding we were in, Brett and I got to the house reallllly late (2amish) Saturday night. Sunday was a restful day ending with our tradition of a Sunday night beach walk.

Everyone on the beach, rule #1 of the beach:your clothes do not have to match:) Caleb obviously doesn't follow this rule, thus looks way better than everyone else...

Since I love the beach oh so much, I got up early (for me) everyday and hit the beach! And another tradition I go in at lunch time and fix mom and I and this year Brett, lunch and take it to the beach to eat! Then I stay on the beach until the last possible minute...aka time to help cook dinner...

One of our first days in the ocean, Caleb looked over and found....You will never guess....an army man! This is only exciting because Justin was unable to go to the beach with us this year because he was in Africa with the Marines. So we made the little army man "Justin" for the week. He even played putt-putt with us one night!

Almost a hole in one!
(please ignore the blurriness)

Such a wonderful trip and a much needed vacation from life! I can't wait to go back! Here are a few more pictures from our trip.

Before going out one night.

Probable one of the coolest things ever! Its a huge hamster ball...on water..you get inside of it and try and walk around...so great to watch!

Sorry ladies....He's taken!

Us with Myrtle...He's a cow. Brett won him for me at the baloon-dart-thingy. No Big Deal.

Oh yes...the alligator. So on Thursday I'm sittin on the beach, my hair tie broke, so I head to the house to get another. Upon my return everyone that was sitting on the beach, spread for a mile or so, were now all right in front of my towel/chair! Weird. To my surprise in front of all those people were lifeguards, animal control, and cops. "What was wrong" I asked out loud. Thinking has someone drowned... Then the lady next to me answered "There's an alligator in the water! Needless to say we weren't allowed in the water for the next 45 minutes or so. They ended up following the thing down the beach and chasing it down with jet-ski. We never heard if they actually caught it or not. So I was paranoid to get in the water and every time air hit me I would freak.

Can't really see it in the picture but the animal control and trucks are behind us.

Count down to Beach Trip 2011: 354 days and counting...

Lovin Summer ♥

I love the summer, mainly because a) there are no allergens, aka I don't feel like I'm gonna die every time I step outside. and b) the Beach. I love the beach. If you ever make me mad, just give me some sand and an ocean and by lunch time you will be back on my good side:)

Last weekend one of my best friends, Jenny, got married! It was such a fun and beautiful day. Well actually it rained, but she was great didn't complain, and in my opinions had one of the prettiest weddings I've ever attended. It was beautiful.

Isn't she gorgeous! I'm so blessed to have such wonderful friends!

Again before the wedding

The wedding was in Independence Virginia, population really small. But it was one of the cutest little towns!
The wedding site-Bourne Davis Inn, Bed & Breakfast

It really was a lot of fun. I was able to see several friends from high school that I haven't seen in years, and introduce them to Brett. Speaking of Brett, he is the best wedding date ever! Seriously, I am so blessed. In the past year he has attended wedding after wedding of my girlfriends and has just been a trooper!

Us having a blast dancin at the reception, and probably keeping everyone else entertained.

After the reception we headed for.....yup...the BEACH! It was a really long drive and once again Mr. Amazing was well amazing...He drove...the entire way, and I of course feel asleep. I just don't know how people stay awake in cars, I hit the seat and I'm out!

I woke up long enough to take a picture:)

Nationals Ball Game

Last week Justin & Becky came up for one night. Justin got us tickets and we went to a Nationals baseball game. It was a little wet but by the time we got there things had cleared up and we had a great time. And we WON!

From Easter until now...yes I am that much of a slacker...

I was fortunate enough to have 3 days off of work before Easter weekend, and Brett had spring break the entire week before. We spent my first day off (Wed) cleaning...SPRING cleaning! I think I might be classified as a "winter horder"...I collect so many pointless things in the winter, and start billions of random craft projects all of which still need to be completed.

Piles of cut material...not sewn together.

A purse...hey its almost complete!

Brett was a trooper he helped with the cleaning, it was no easy task...Living in a basement, things tend to get a little more dusty. We dusted, vacuumed, swept, mopped, we did it all, oh yea and lets not forget the 5 loads of laundry we folded...did I ever mention I hate folding laundry...

Thursday we woke up, loaded the car and headed for Burlington, NC. 5.5 hours later we arrived to cracker barrel and were able to have dinner with my grandparents! Then we drove another hour and got close to my friend Sarah's house, so I called her and told her she had company coming:) So we made a detour and stopped for a short visit! I even got a Christmas present!

Yes it does say "Let it snow, Let it snow" , but I could put it away, I had to use it!

9.5 hours later we made it to my parents. It was a relaxing weekend, nothing was planned, so we able to chill most of the time. It was beautiful, and around 85 the whole weekend!

Brett is coaching girls soccer for the school where he works. They are a pretty young team, however with his patience they are learning the sport and were able to win there first game a few weeks ago! Brett has also been in the process of applying for Grad schools, with hopes to some day get his doctorate in History and teach at a college level. And last week he found out he was accepted to George Mason University! He is so excited and this exciting news is a real confirmation for us of God's purpose and plan for our lives. Please keep him (and myself) in your prayers as he begins registering for classes, and soon after attending them:).

Lights, Camera, Action!

"For the Glory" is a movie based on our landlord, Kurt Kuykendall and how he went from nothing to an all American soccer player and believer of Christ. My sister-in-law Katherine and her husband Chris wrote the script to this movie, and our church is helping support them as they are in the process of casting for the lead roles. After much hesitation, excitement, and other people telling us to, we auditioned! Brett auditioned for Robby, a friend of Kurt's, and I auditioned for the role of Sherry, Kurt's wife. I've always wanted to be in a movie, and thought hey I may never have this opportunity ever again so I might as well try out, what do I have to loose. Unfortunately we weren't able to make the auditions due to our work schedules, so we had to send in tapes. We spent out Saturday evening filming, and let me tell ya, acting by yourself is hard! We had so much fun though, laughing and messing up our parts, and trying to act the part to the best of our ability. For your entertainment I thought I would share a blooper or two with you.

Also Brett is currently taking French via Rosetta Stone. Tonight I was doing the dishes and I kept hearing "Vueh, Vah!, Du!" I kept getting so tickled because I couldn't hear everything he was saying, only every third word! Here he is in action.

Brett learning French

Brett is also applying for Grad school. He wants to eventually get his Doctorate in History, and become a history professor. We should now in the next couple of months where he gets in. So other than work, filling out applications, and becoming famous actors our life is pretty much uneventful.

Bubbles

I am now known as Bubbles. It happened on Friday at work. I work for a Periodontist and One of our general dentist referred a patient to us so we have been working over the last couple of weeks together on trying to get this patient in. Since the two doctors work opposite schedules it was becoming very difficult to find dates that worked well for everyone. Needless to say the patient was getting upset with me, because I was unable to get her an appointment as soon as she wanted. So she ended up calling and just coming in to see the general dentist. While she was in the chair that doctor asked her if she was able to set an appointment up with my doctor. She responded by saying "No Bubbles never called me". The doctor and assistant were both like who is Bubbles, to which the lady replied, "You know the little blond girl downstairs." Hilarious! The lady really thought my name was Bubbles. So I am now known by almost everyone at work as "Bubbles". Lets just hope this isn't a nickname that sticks for to long...

Valentine's Day

This past Sunday brett and I celebrated our 2nd valentine's day as man and wife. Since it fell on a Sunday this year we went to church, then out to lunch with several friends. Afterwards Brett took me to see Dear John, which was such a good movie, up until the last 20 minutes. Despite the terrible ending I was still glad I got to go see it. Earlier in the week we decided that due to the lack of dollar bills in our wallets we would not go out to a fancy dinner, instead we would stay in and eat something cheap. Our final decision was takeout Chinese:) We called it in and Brett went to pick it up. He came home with a pepsi, food, and of course flowers! They were beautiful red roses. We sat in front of the tv watching the 2010 winter Olympics eating Chinese food. Not your typical romantic valentine's day dinner, but it was perfect.

The Beginning

First things first, I must confess that I am not writer, nor a very dedicated blogger, so with that said, I will try my best to keep this blog updated. Over the years, as I have grown up, moved away from home, and just recently got married, I have found it harder and harder to keep in touch. Therefore, after reading blog after blog it finally hit me, this would be the perfect way to tell those near and far about what is going on in the life of the Jeschke's. So here goes, please bare with me :)

Brett and I met my first year at JMU, I had transferred in as a junior, and he was a senior. He says we met at the first CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ) meeting of the year, but I remember things a little differently. I say we met at a bonfire in October…so the story began in October of 2006. After that I don't remember really talking to him again until Spring break 2007, where we both attended Big Break (A spring break conference held in Panama City Florida where students from the Mid-Atlantic gather and share with those on the beach about Jesus.) Then came the CRU spring semi-formal where Brett called me up and asked me to be his date, I said yes. A few weeks later we began to date. Easter of 2009 Brett popped the big question, I said yes and we were engaged for a short 4 months and married on August 9, 2009.
A year and a half later here we are, we just survived (barely) the Blizzard of 2010, in just one week we have received 40+ inches of snow. Did I mention I really don’t like snow, cause I don't, and to have 40+ inches…..lets just say I am on the verge of going crazy!

Brett all bundled up, getting ready to go see the snow!

Me almost all bundled up, don't laugh it was cold and I was warm!

Brett next to our car, look how deep it is!

My car buried

Brett shoveling our path

I helped to! I was so sore the next day.

During the blizzard, Brett also celebrated his 25th birthday! Last year I made him a cake and gave it to him at mid-night and this year we continued the tradition. Only difference, last year his cake was huge, triple layer chocolate with chocolate icing...lets justs say we had to throw half of it away, because of my dislike for chocolate and he couldn't eat it all before it went bad. So this year Brett requested a resonable size cake...aka I got creative and used my mini bread pans and made him a triple layered mini cake.
Brett and his cake
Pretty delicious looking if I do say so myself

The next day-his actual birthday, I took him out to dinner at the Sweet Water Tavern. We enjoyed steaks and loaded baked potatoes, and Brett got a free dessert :)

Alrighty, well that very lengthy book has or I hope has caught you up on our lives thus far. The Lord has blessed us in so many ways, and he continues to amaze us. Thanks for reading and I hope I can keep this up!
